1. The Service — Nature of Star Naming

Named Light Star Registry offers a novelty and commemorative gift service. When you purchase a star registration, you receive:

• An assignment of a unique, catalogued star from the HYG Astronomical Database to a name of your choosing, recorded in our private registry.
• A digital PDF certificate sent to the email address you provide.
• A printed certificate mailed to the shipping address you provide.
• A permanent public registry page at a unique URL displaying your star's details.

2. Eligibility and Account

You must be at least 18 years of age to place an order. By placing an order, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information — including your name, email address, and shipping address — at the time of purchase. NamedLight, LLC is not responsible for non-delivery caused by an incorrect address you provided.

3. Pricing and Payment

All prices are displayed in US Dollars (USD) and are subject to change without notice. The price charged to you is the price displayed at the time you complete your order.

Payment is processed securely by Stripe, Inc. By submitting your payment information, you authorize us to charge the amount due to your payment method. We do not store your card details on our servers.

All sales are final at the time of payment. See Section 4 for our refund policy.

4. Refund and Cancellation Policy

We want you to be completely happy with your purchase. If for any reason you are not satisfied, you may return your physical items within 30 days of your order date for a full refund of your order price.

To initiate a return, visit our contact page with your order details. Ship the physical items back to us at your own expense in their original condition. Once we receive the returned items, we will issue a full refund to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.

Please note the following:

• The 30-day return window begins on the date of your order, not the date of physical delivery.
• Items must be returned in their original condition. We reserve the right to decline a refund if items are returned damaged or incomplete.
• Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
• If your physical certificate has not arrived within 30 days of your order, contact us and we will investigate and, if appropriate, reprint and reship at no charge.

In addition, we will issue a full refund regardless of return in the following circumstances — contact us via our contact page within 30 days of your order:

• You did not receive your confirmation email and PDF certificate within 48 hours of payment, despite providing a valid email address.
• You received a certificate containing a material error caused by us (not a typo you made in your order).
• A technical failure on our end resulted in your order not being fulfilled.

If you are unsatisfied with your sky map image on your certificate, we will reassign your star and regenerate your certificate at no charge — simply contact us within 30 days of your order.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing time is typically 5–10 business days depending on your card issuer.

5. Delivery of Physical Certificate

The printed certificate is mailed to the shipping address you provide. Please allow 7–14 business days for delivery within the United States, and up to 21 business days for international shipments to Canada and Mexico.

We are not responsible for delays or non-delivery caused by:

• An incorrect or incomplete shipping address provided by you.
• Carrier delays, weather events, or circumstances beyond our control.
• Refusal of delivery by the recipient.

If your printed certificate has not arrived within 30 days of your order, contact us and we will investigate and, if appropriate, reprint and reship at no charge.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Site or our service to:

• Submit star names, dedications, or messages containing profanity, hate speech, harassment, or content that is obscene, defamatory, or illegal.
• Impersonate any person or entity or provide false information.
• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Site without our express written permission.
• Resell or commercially exploit the service without our written authorization.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order that violates these standards, and to remove any public registry page containing prohibited content, without prior notice and without refund.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, certificate designs, and software — is the property of NamedLight, LLC or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Sky map images displayed on registry pages and certificates are derived from publicly available astronomical survey data (DSS2 via the CDS HiPS service) and are used in accordance with applicable terms.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any Site content without our express written permission.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Site is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Site, you consent to the data practices described in that Policy.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND SERVICE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information on the Site.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY NEVADA LAW, NAMEDLIGHT, LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US FOR THE SPECIFIC ORDER GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall first be submitted to good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, it shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered in Las Vegas, Nevada, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

You agree that any arbitration or court proceeding shall be conducted on an individual basis only and not as a class, collective, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

If arbitration is found unenforceable, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Las Vegas, Nevada.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site or placement of an order after the revised Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

13. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and NamedLight, LLC regarding the subject matter herein and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.
