Before You Order
The six things
people ask us most.
How fast is delivery?
The digital certificate and registry page land in your inbox within minutes, no waiting required.
Which package should I choose?
It depends on how bright you want your star. Every package includes a real star, a digital certificate, and an online registry page. Higher tiers assign brighter stars that stand out more on your certificate's sky chart.
Is the star name official?
The star you're naming is genuine and cataloged, and we'll keep your dedication in our registry. That said, star naming is a symbolic gesture, not an official one; the IAU and other scientific bodies don't recognize it, and neither does any other naming registry.
Can I pick a specific star myself?
You choose the constellation, and we assign an available star within it, complete with coordinates and a sky chart. This keeps every star in our database unique to one dedication.
How does the 30-day guarantee work?
If you're not happy for any reason, contact us within 30 days of your order for a full refund. Not happy with your sky chart image? We'll assign a new star and send you a new certificate at no cost.
How is a brighter star assigned?
Every star in our catalog has a measured brightness called magnitude. Lower magnitude numbers mean brighter stars. Our Bright package draws from stars in the 7.0 to 8.0 magnitude range, Brilliant pulls from 5.0 to 7.0, and Supernova assigns from the brightest in our catalog at magnitude 5.0 and below. The brighter the star, the more striking it looks on your certificate's sky chart.
