About This Registration
Star naming through NamedLight Star Registry is a novelty and commemorative service. The name "Halcyon" is recorded exclusively in the NamedLight Star Registry and is not recognized by the International Astronomical Union, NASA, any official astronomical body, or any other star registry. The star's scientific designation (HYG-88463) is drawn from the HYG Astronomical Database, a widely used catalog of real stellar objects.
The sky chart is rendered from real star catalog data (USNO UCAC4 and the HYG Database), showing the stars around yours at their catalogued positions. If you are unhappy with your sky chart, contact us and we will assign a new star promptly at no cost.
